the Paper Poste

21 Aug

I’m so in love with my next event that I had to find paper suites to go with the aesthetic!  (I love when new opportunities present themselves!).  I keep thinking maybe someday I will be so sick of chevron, but, truth is, I’m not so sure!  I am a pattern lover; no way around that!

Without further chit-chat, I’ll let the pretty speak for itself!

Stripes, chevron, and confetti–oh, my!  Smitten!

On a sidenote: this is my ONE HUNDREDTH post here!  YAY!!  Thanks to everyone for reading, and I’m so excited about what comes next!

girl bash

15 Aug

Over a month ago, I hosted a fantastic party in honor of the incredible women I have become friends with since moving a year ago.  If you follow me on Instagram, you would have gotten a peek into the gorgeousness while I was creating it.  I’ve finally been able to curate and edit the images, and I can’t wait for you to see them!  Enjoy the pretty!

A few weeks ago, I teased you with a few images from the Girl Bash I hosted at the beginning of July.  I seriously wish I could throw those every day.  I would never get bored!  Planning, designing, and throwing events is what I do best and I love watching guests thoroughly enjoy themselves.

I teamed up with one of my friends (Rachel from Rach’s Cakes) and with her cake expertise, we had something to eat at that party.  I’ve said before and I’ll continue to say it: she has way WAY more talent than I do in that department.  That’s why I recruited her.

I gave her the overall theme: pink, orange, gold, chevron, and polka dots.  I also told her I wanted a cake for display as well as cake pops to eat, gave her a few ideas that I had seen done and liked, and told her to go nuts!  And she definitely did!  Just look at the detail in these images!

From a gorgeous opening flower gracing the top to gold leafing detail on the handcrafted ruffles, Rachel created a gorgeous cake that impressed everyone and brought my vision to life!

Girl Bash preview

12 Jul

Since I received the images from Girl Bash, I’ve been itching to show them off.  I know a few (at least!) of you are excited to see them, as well.  However, I want to do the images justice, so they will probably be a future post where I can take the time to get it right.

Don’t worry, though!  I have a few previews for you.  Overall, the night was a complete success.  I actually had someone tell me I was “glowing” when I talked to them about it the other day.  How fabulous is that?!  It’s true, though–I get so over the moon to do this!

the paper poste

26 Jun

The beginning.  A good place to start?  Here we go!  The Paper Poste is going to be a series here at Spunky Sapphire Events because I love paper creations.  When I say “love”, I literally mean I get lost in Staples, I could ogle invitations, office supplies, artwork, cards, and more ALL. DAY. LONG.  And then wake up the next day and do it again.

**I’m just a little nervous about this commitment because my track record with promises regarding this blog is…interesting, shall we say.  ha!

With that out of the way….

Welcome to the Paper Poste!

I’ve been eyeball deep in Girl Bash preparations over here, and with that (and this blog’s) color scheme embedded in my brain, let’s start with some pink and orange invitations!  All of these can be found at Minted–an awesome online resource with gorgeous (affordable) options for weddings.

I am into really neat fonts, patterns, and unique “newtraditional” designs right now with fun words.  Make your guests excited about your wedding!!!

Fun and playful, yet classic…

And now we get into the fun-to-read ones that make me happy!

I would be over the moon to receive that last one in the mail.  Super cool.  I love the use of pictures to give the details of the day, and the design is fabulous.

Each of the above invitations is available in a few different color families. Minted also offers a custom color option! Go nuts!

Invitations are really the first glimpse into what a wedding will be like, so make yours count!  What do you think?  Would you be more excited about a wedding if you could see the couple in the design (meaning, it was really “them”)?  I’d love to hear your thoughts on wedding invitations and I’m excited to share my favorites with you!

{this post was not sponsored. I just thought Minted.com would be a great place to start gathering for this series.}

pink+orange+gold

It’s very possible that this combination is my new color obsession!  Ever since spotting this wedding by the very talented Amber Housley, I have been dreaming and obsessing (honestly the only word I can think of) about this color combination.  My blog design was inspired by that wedding as a matter of fact.  So!  Since then, I have been gathering inspiration for hosting a girlfriend appreciation party of sorts, and, thanks to Pinterest, I have a little pile of pretties going.

These cake delights are gorgeous and I’m smitten with the pink macarons, too!!!

This decor is just dreamy.  Honestly, that’s the only way to explain it:

You probably already know that funky straws are my favorite touch to party drinks.  These fit right in with my color scheme!  Whoo-hoo!

Twelve straws for three bucks is definitely not bad!  They’re too pretty to say “no” to!

Of course I’d send my lovely ladies home with a little gift since gifting, paper products, and lasting memories are my thing!  The Elli Blog has some beautif-eous printable wrapping paper for FREE!  Who’s going to argue with that?!

Visit their blog to get the PDF file and start wrapping!

If you’re looking for more pink, orange, and gold ideas, you can snag a peek at the rest of my inspiration collection.

And, just because it made me smile, this would definitely be placed somewhere in my little fete:
