Some pattern play for today.  Personally, I love patterned paper of any kind and stationary with patterns on the backside are awesome.  For business cards, why not make use of that blank side with some bright and funky or sleek and modern patterns?  It makes your piece shine even more!  I’m loving these note cards with funky patterns on the reverse.  Cover the backs of your invitations with pattern, color, and fun!  Make the most of the paper!

Wedding stationary images fire me up.  I love them and a good shot brings them to life almost as much as receiving one yourself in the mail!  Today, I bring you three images that inspired me immediately when I saw them.  From fun patterns and textures to gorgeous rich colors, these invitations are amazing.

I am head-over-heels for the rustic charm and hand-lettering of the first one and the brilliant color and stripes of the last.  Which is your favorite?

It’s all about the packaging….or so I like to think.  Everything is better when it’s wrapped up so pretty.  From gorgeous boxes to encase it all to beautifully-lined envelopes and fantastic hand-lettering or calligraphy, invitation suite packaging can be stunning and totally worth the little bit of extra work necessary for assembly!

These invitations were put together by Rhiannon of Hey Gorgeous Events and created by Smitten on Paper.

You can see the rest of this unique and colorful wedding (along with some incredible design work) here.

Thinking about a themed wedding?  Throw this on for inspiration…

Beautiful carnival-style party!  Also, draw theme inspiration from the location the wedding takes place at like this sea-inspired one at a yacht club.

In addition to themed weddings, neon is making a comeback, and these suites will prove to you that it’s not as ghastly as the eighties.  Make it pop by pairing it with a deep color such as navy.  Love the striped liner for the envelope, too!

Keep the brights going and add in some geometric shapes for a fun look (confetti is a must!).

How important to you is it to have an invitation suite?  Would you go all out?

Okay, so you all know how obsessed I am about unique touches in every aspect of life, but how fun would it be to have a customized address stamp for your wedding invitations or the thank you notes you’ll send later?

I was perusing Lover.ly (you can check out my “Aqua” board here), and I set out to find cool stamps for your paper materials!  Then, clearly the next move was to Etsy–the home of all things amazing and creatively awesome.

I love the combination of hand-writing/calligraphy with type as well as how many directions you can run in with it!  I would definitely love one of these, and it would just give your mail so much more pizazz.

What do you think?  Would you invest in a personalized address stamp just for fun and to have as a memento?

the paper poste: save the date!

3 Jul

So…is it really worth having save-the-date cards for your wedding?  Well, it’s not necessary, but it IS fun! Save-the-date cards are smart to use if you have guests coming from far distances or you’re having a destination wedding.  You can also send save-the-date cards if you want to give your guests a peek into the style for the day before you send the formal invitation!  In addition, I also recommend sending save-the-dates if you plan to get married during a busy season (the holidays, New Year’s Eve, or the summer).  Calendars fill up with many events during the holidays (weekends especially), and summers are always busy between vacations, reunions, and other people’s weddings (<<let’s be real, here).

Now, onto the pretty–from Wedding Paper Divas! Save-the-dates are available in just about any format you can think of: photo cards, magnets, shaped cards, postcard designs. You can go nuts and be creative with save-the-date cards because they are a little bit more informal than the invitation.  Make them fun! Just make sure they hold the appropriate and necessary detailed information: who, when, and where!

They can feature a photo of the two of you…

If you’re really daring and creative, choose an infographic save-the-date!  Of course, you know how smitten I am with infographics so this one got me fired up.  So fun to read and decipher!

Pure awesome-ness.  There are literally millions of options out there, so don’t get overwhelmed!  If you have a style in mind, narrow your search to bring up only those.  If you have no idea, start browsing a miscellaneous list of options and I know one will jump out at you. Happy hunting!

The beginning.  A good place to start?  Here we go!  The Paper Poste is going to be a series here at Spunky Sapphire Events because I love paper creations.  When I say “love”, I literally mean I get lost in Staples, I could ogle invitations, office supplies, artwork, cards, and more ALL. DAY. LONG.  And then wake up the next day and do it again.

**I’m just a little nervous about this commitment because my track record with promises regarding this blog is…interesting, shall we say.  ha!

With that out of the way….

Welcome to the Paper Poste!

I’ve been eyeball deep in Girl Bash preparations over here, and with that (and this blog’s) color scheme embedded in my brain, let’s start with some pink and orange invitations!  All of these can be found at Minted–an awesome online resource with gorgeous (affordable) options for weddings.

I am into really neat fonts, patterns, and unique “newtraditional” designs right now with fun words.  Make your guests excited about your wedding!!!

Fun and playful, yet classic…

And now we get into the fun-to-read ones that make me happy!

I would be over the moon to receive that last one in the mail.  Super cool.  I love the use of pictures to give the details of the day, and the design is fabulous.

Each of the above invitations is available in a few different color families. Minted also offers a custom color option! Go nuts!

Invitations are really the first glimpse into what a wedding will be like, so make yours count!  What do you think?  Would you be more excited about a wedding if you could see the couple in the design (meaning, it was really “them”)?  I’d love to hear your thoughts on wedding invitations and I’m excited to share my favorites with you!

{this post was not sponsored. I just thought Minted.com would be a great place to start gathering for this series.}

awesome e-session

7 Jun

For the win! This Canadian engagement session posted on Wedding Obsession made my life so much better. I absolutely am in love with creative women. You can meet this Edmonton, Alberta-based awesome lady, Justine, and check out her Etsy shop for some great hand-lettered cards. In the meantime, here are a few fabulous photos from her and Mike’s e-session. Check out the rest here.

This is definitely one of my top e-session images in the history of ever.  Love the humor, the chalkboard wall, and the gorgeous writing.

I mean, really.  How awesome is that.  And they even have the faces to match the words!   “hehehe.”  Perfect.  So, head over to see the rest, and have a fantastic Friday!

my new “office”

27 May

Hooray, everybody!!!  Happy MONDAY.  I am starting this week off just marvelously!  Wanna know why?  Well.

In honor of me living here for a year, I’ve been in the zone making this place my favorite place to be.  From the gallery wall I did last week to my new office space (aka–the girl cave), I’ve been tearing it up and I’m SO excited.  I guess you could say I’ve “rebranded” my space to reflect who I am these days–a little update, if you will.

The incredibly awesome project of the day:

a wedding planner's library--theSpunkySapphire.wordpress.com

Workspace--theSpunkySapphire.wordpress.com

Sounds probably a little bizarre, but now I feel like I can really accomplish some fabulous pretty things at that desk surrounded by inspiration.  Not a half-bad mini library either, and I’m sure it will grow!  Do you have any recommendations?

To add to my productive Monday, I did a little more business work (more on that later), got my oil changed, and successfully went to Target and bought only the stuff on my list!  <<that makes a successful day all by itself.

I’m feeling like this week is going to be pretty decent!  Make yours amazing!
